President Monson - Really Sing.png

Audition any time during the year!

  • Scientists say singing boosts immune system.

  • Singing releases endorphins into your system and makes you feel energized and uplifted.

  • Singing gives the lungs a workout.

  • Singing tones abdominal and intercostal muscles and the diaphragm, and stimulates circulation.

  • Singing makes us breathe more deeply than many forms of strenuous exercise, so we take in more oxygen.

  • Singing improves aerobic capacity and experience a release of muscle tension.

  • Singing can help prolong life.

The Southern California Latter-day Saint Choir is always looking for qualified vocalists to swell its ranks. We recommend you are currently singing with a Ward, Stake, or Community Choir.

To audition, please do the following:

1. Come to rehearsal
Every Wednesday (except during July & August) we rehearse at the Arcadia Foothill Building located at 614 West Foothill Blvd, Arcadia from 7:30 to 9:30 P.M. The building is located right off the 210 Fwy between N. Baldwin and S. Baldwin.

2. At the rehearsal
Ask any choir member to direct you to your Section Leader. Your Section Leader will have you fill out a Prospective Member form so you will start receiving our weekly rehearsal emails. They will also introduce you to our Librarian, where you will be assigned a sheet music package.

3. After you have attended three rehearsals
You will audition with Jan Bills or Ben Salisbury. The audition consists of singing a well known hymn.

You must be at least 18 years old to join and it requires a commitment to attend at least 80% of rehearsals and concerts.  Our concerts are generally on Saturday or Sunday nights, but can be other days as well.  We perform on average once a month, but it varies.  Check our concerts  page for an idea of when and where we perform.
